Certain policies have been established which players and parents are expected to abide by in order to establish the following:
Create an enthusiastic and fun atmosphere.
Promote parent/child interaction through the program as a social activity.
Development of players through teaching individual skills and TEAM concepts.
Individual player progress.
Provide learning skills for lifelong recreation enjoyment.
The use of the gym is a privilege. No food or drinks are permitted inside the gyms except for water. Please clean up after yourselves.
All participants including spectators are confined to the gym area only. Spectators are to sit and remain on the opposite side of the gym from the team benches.
There should NOT be anyone walking around the school or touching equipment or supplies left out by the school.
Players, parents, coaches, and spectators are expected to conduct themselves with sportsmanship.
Anyone behaving in a manor which disrupts a game or practice must cease immediately or be subject to ejection from the gym.
Verbal or physical abuse of game officials WILL NOT be tolerated. Offenders are subject to ejection from the gym and may be banned from further attendance and participation in the program.
An unexcused absence from practice will result in reduced playing time for the next game. This is up to the coaches discretion.
Safety is of the utmost importance and will not be compromised. The following rules will be strictly enforced.
Players may not wear jewelry while practicing or playing in a game. This includes rings, earrings, watches, necklaces, and/or bracelets. This also includes pierced brows, lips, tongues, etc.
Any player who is bleeding must leave the court and not return until the bleeding has stopped and the wound is treated.
Any attempt by any player to deliberately injure anyone is grounds for suspension or expulsion from the program.
Fighting will not be tolerated. Players fighting during a game will be ejected from that game and suspended for the next two games. If a subsequent fighting incident occurs the player will be expelled from the program.
No one is permitted to use or play on any equipment in the gyms left out by the school.
No basketballs other than those belonging to the Pocono Mountain West Youth Basketball Association are allowed in the gyms.
A parent must accompany small children at all time. They are not allowed on any equipment, mats, or the basketball courts.
All Players must wear the t-shirt issued by the Pocono Mountain West Youth Basketball Association for all games.
No player names, team names, or sponsor names are to be added to the game shirts.
Shirts are not to be altered in any way.
